Job Title: Dermatology Medical Coder
Location: Waxahachie, TX (75165) Hybrid (3 days on site, 2 remote)
Pay: Based on Experience
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM
Responsibilities:
The coder will review and analyze claims submitted to payers to ensure their accuracy, completeness and compliance with ICD 10 and CPT guidelines and MUE and NCCE edits
The coder will identify errors, discrepancies, or missing information within the claims documentation, working closely with the revenue cycle staff to correct any issues and improve overall claims processing efficiency
The person hired will be expected to stay current on CPT and ICD 10 professional coding updates and guidelines, and implement necessary adjustments to the claim scrubbing process
Effective communication skills and a proactive approach are essential in this role to facilitate collaboration with other revenue cycle staff and uphold the highest standards of quality assurance in the claims processing workflow
Requirements:
REQUIRED: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working for dermatology practices
CPC and/or CPC-A certification
Working knowledge of an EMR system, preferably EMA
Understanding of EOBs and MSNs
Hybrid candidates must live in or around the Dallas/Ft Worth area
