Description We are seeking a Sr/Staff Property Accountant in Dallas, Texas. This role is centered around financial reporting, acquisitions, financing, and team leadership and development within the industry. Responsibilities: Ensure the timely issuance of monthly property-level financial reports Supervise team members and ensure adherence to monthly & month-end checklists Review and approve property bank reconciliations and monthly financial tie-out packages Align property reporting package, policies, and procedures with best practices Follow operational accounting processes and coordinate responses to requests from third-party tax advisors and auditors Participate in the annual budgeting process and the capital event due diligence and closing processes Prepare and review proration files and closing statements during acquisitions and financing Understand key accounting terms included in vehicle agreements, management agreements, and loan agreements Update accounting systems promptly after capital events Recruit, onboard, and train new property accounting department team members Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment Keep accounting policy and process documentation updated with current department practices Lead the team in goal-setting exercises. Requirements Proficiency in Account Coding is required for this role. Familiarity with various Accounting Software Systems is essential. Experience with ADP - Financial Services is a significant advantage. Proficiency in AMSI software is necessary. Knowledge of AppFolio software is desirable. Comprehensive understanding of general Accounting Functions is needed. Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) is required. Familiarity with managing Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary. Proficiency in Accrual Accounting is a prerequisite. Prior experience in Auditing is advantageous.
