ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists the Accounting team in producing accurate and timely financial statements
Ensures the timely and accurate posting, balancing, and reconciliation of the general ledger for each entity in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
Researches and analyzes fluctuations between current financial results compared to prior year, prior month, and budgeted amounts
Ensure that all fixed asset schedules, analysis and journal entries are prepared and recorded in compliance with applicable accounting standards
Provide accounting support to approximately 5 venues including month end close accruals, analysis, and response to questions
Reconciliation of Fixed assets, including research of any variances with Procurement Department, Accounts Payable, warehouses and venues
Work with the financial planning team and deliver reports to assist in the creation of forecast tables
Manage monthly pre-paid amortization
Develops, enhances and implements accounting and finance procedures and documentation of data flow
Recommends system and procedural controls to ensure data integrity
Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations each period/quarter as assigned and scheduled
Prepare and review standard and recurring journal entries. Ensure all transactions are properly recorded in a timely and accurate manner
Assist with fiscal year-end financial reporting and audit requirements
Support and assist Accounting Manager and Assistant Controller on any special projects and reports
Reviews, analyzes and determines that the company's assets are properly accounted for.
Participate in system implementation of new or revised systems. High energy and enthusiasm, with a strong commitment to exceeding expectations

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
2+ years of experience with demonstrated increasing responsibilities
CPA or CPA candidate preferred
Auditing experience at a public accounting firm is a plus
Experience working with SEC registrants is a plus
Restaurant or multi-unit retail industry experience preferred
In-depth understanding of GAAP and the ability to research and apply technical accounting issues to recording financial results
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Intermediate/Advanced understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel,
Ability to work and research/resolve issues independently while sharing best practices and knowledge with colleagues
Ability to organize/manage multiple priorities and projects coupled with the flexibility to quickly adapt to ever changing business questions and needs
Experience using SAP and Business Objects a plus
