Posting Number: S05644PDepartment: NeuroscienceSalary Range: $37,000 - $40,000, DOQPay Basis: MonthlyPosition Status: Regular full-timeLocation: RichardsonJob Description: The Rincón-Cortés Lab in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences is seeking an engaged and enthusiastic individual as a Research Laboratory Technician. The individual will be responsible for some administrative aspects of running the laboratory (i.e., scheduling, record-keeping, etc.), assisting with animal husbandry procedures and colony management, as well as conducting laboratory research using behavioral methods and neuroscience techniques including but not limited to immunohistochemistry, electrophysiology, chemogenetics, and optical imaging. Technical aspects of research studies include but are not limited to study logistics, collection and analysis of data, data management and study documentation for quality assurance review.This person will work under the supervision of Dr. Rincón-Cortés as well as independently and collaboratively. Initial employment will be one year (anticipated start date of May 20, 2024) with possibility of additional years pending grant funding and positive annual performance reviews. This position is grant funded. Initial employment will be one year with the possibility of additional years contingent on the availability of funds. Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree with a minimum of two years hands on experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable. Preferred Education and Experience: HIGHLY PREFERRED :

Candidates with a degree in Neuroscience and strong background in performing behavioral neuroscience experiments in rodents.

Expertise with working with rats.

An interest in independent research projects, including authorship on publications and presentations at national conferences, can be arranged if desired.
