Description Temporary Paralegal - Bankruptcy FocusLocation: Dallas, TexasWe are currently seeking an experienced Paralegal with a focus on bankruptcy to join a well-established law firm in Dallas, Texas. The selected candidate will work directly under the guidance of supervising attorneys, with the main responsibility of providing comprehensive legal support for our bankruptcy group and other attorneys throughout the firm. This is a temporary position, with the potential for an extension based on performance.Responsibilities:
Work closely with the firm’s Bankruptcy group and provide comprehensive support to other attorneys.
Organize, analyze, conduct research, and draft case materials.
Manage schedules, draft legal documents, and effectively communicate with various parties.
Assisting in large, complex Chapter 11 restructuring cases.
Conduct extensive legal research, with a focus on the Uniform Commercial Code.
Maintain case calendars and manage working group lists.
Handle corporate background searches with the Secretary of State.
Manage all aspects of commercial bankruptcy cases.
Cite checks, conduct research and update precedents in pleadings.
Liaise with clients, creditors, and other interested parties regarding case issues.
Prepare and manage quarterly fee applications.
Review and edit documents, exhibits, charts, and diagrams, ensuring accuracy.
Collaborate closely with other practice groups and offices on restructuring cases.
Conduct bankruptcy searches using various databases and docket results.
Requirements
Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat is necessary for handling digital documents. Ability to use Case Management Software for tracking and managing legal cases efficiently. Knowledge of LexisNexis to conduct legal research and stay updated with the latest legal information. Competency in using Management Systems to organize and streamline work processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for managing data, making calculations, and creating reports. Familiarity with Billing Functions in the legal context to ensure accurate and timely client billing. Experience in Briefing teams or individuals on case updates and legal matters. Proficiency in Calendar Management to schedule meetings, court dates, and deadlines. Experience in Claim Administration to manage insurance or other claims in legal cases.
