Job Description

Our client is a multi-location dual brand Case IH and New Holland Dealership serving Central and South Texas with branches in the Taylor, San Antonio area and Corpus Christi area. Since 1943, they have strived to be the premier dealership in Texas providing their customers with superior customer support.

The client is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Equipment Diesel Mechanic for agricultural and construction equipment for its Taylor, TX location. This position is a direct hire full time hourly position that performs work in-house and in the field.

Responsibilities:

Performing electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and diesel repairs on equipment.

Responsible for performing quality work and attaining goals for efficiency.

Analyze malfunctions and repairs, rebuild and maintain equipment.

Operate and inspect machines and equipment to diagnose defects.

Dismantle and reassemble equipment, using hoists as well as hand power tools.

Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.

Replace defective engines and sub-assemblies, such as transmissions, electric motors, drums, seals, hydraulic pumps, valves, pistons, rods, gears, etc.

Test overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency (must be able to operate all equipment).

Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.

Document repair operations and time tracking in accordance with department procedure.

Read and interpret schematics (ex. electrical and hydraulic diagrams).

Communicate daily with the Service Manager.

Communicates timeline for completion of repairs to ensure excellent customer satisfaction.

Customer service including explanation of technical information to customers in clear terms.

Perform quality work while following all Safety requirements.

Maintain a clean work environment on a consistent basis (i.e. company truck, shop, tools).

Maintain service technician certifications and continue to keep up with latest product updates.

All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

4 years as a diesel mechanic, Agricultural technician, service technician, field technician, or heavy equipment mechanic preferred

Experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, including diesels, hydraulic systems and electrical systems.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Flexibility to work inhouse or in the field as necessary.

Good working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and power systems.

Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.

Acceptable Motor Vehicle status.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines

Flexible work hours.

Ability to stand and lift heavy parts daily.

Compensation: Starting rate $30/hr - hourly rate will be based on experience.

Location: Taylor, TX and Hondo, TX and Robstown, TX

Schedule: Monday to Friday: 8 am - 5 pm, Saturday: 8 am to 12 pm; 40 hour minimum. No cap on overtime during the busy season.
