Blade Runner Landscapes is a fast-growing commercial landscape maintenance and tree service company based in Austin, TX. We serve HOAs, office parks, retail centers, and other commercial properties throughout Central Texas. We are expanding our irrigation division and are looking for dependable, hardworking professionals to join our team.
Position Overview
We are seeking an Irrigation Technician to support the inspection, maintenance, and repair of commercial and residential irrigation systems across Austin and surrounding counties. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of field experience, a strong understanding of system components, and familiarity with Central Texas watering restrictions and drought-related requirements.
A Texas irrigation license is NOT required for this position, but professional experience is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain irrigation systems including controllers, valves, heads, and piping
Perform monthly system checks, identify leaks, and adjust run times and coverage and log all work
Install and wire new irrigation zones, valves, and controllers
Prepare written proposals for repairs and system improvements based on site inspections
Document and report repairs and inspections
Follow watering schedules and restrictions issued by the City of Austin, Travis County, and surrounding municipalities
Communicate clearly with property managers, account managers, and fellow crew members
Assist with basic landscaping tasks as needed
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of hands-on irrigation experience (commercial preferred)
Strong understanding of irrigation system components (rotors, sprays, drip, controllers, wiring)
Experience preparing repair and improvement proposals for clients
Familiarity with Central Texas watering restrictions, soil conditions, and seasonal adjustments
Ability to work independently and with a team in outdoor conditions year-round
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Must be able to lift 50 lbs, dig, trench, and work in heat and inclement weather
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Irrigator license (LI) or technician license (IT) a plus but not required
