About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking an Executive Director to cover the Texas Region of our Public Finance team.In this role, you will:
Serve in a lead banker capacity for major issuers throughout TX, including governmental agencies, K-12 school districts and higher education institutions
Coordinate coverage efforts and effectively partner with specialized sector teams within Public Finance and Relationship Managers in Commercial Banking
Develop new business opportunities, manage client relationships, and create customized solutions for complex situations
Originate and execute finance transactions as the managing underwriter in the municipal securities sector, which can include derivatives or advisory assignments
Maintain a significant depth and tenure of relationships with issuers and municipal market participants within the state of TX
Be an acknowledged expert in their field and be able to build upon a network of influence among municipal market professionals including chief financial officers, bond lawyers, credit providers, financial advisors, rating agencies, and key industry vendors (such as public accounting firms)
Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with teammates, within the framework of the strategic alliance, to accomplish annual and long-term business objectives
Represent MPG within the company, and externally in support of specific municipal finance business
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of Investment Banking experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
10+ years direct public finance work experience OR Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients
Strong knowledge of financial markets, and an understanding of public finance market
Ability to understand local nuances and help position Wells Fargo Public Finance with large municipal issuers nationwide
Demonstrated leadership abilities
Municipal Derivatives and Strategic Advisory experience preferred
Demonstrated leadership capabilities
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients
Consistent track record of revenue generation with municipal issuers
Demonstrated account relationship management, business development, and sales experience
Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills
An energetic self-starter who is detail oriented with strong relationship development and persuasion skills who enjoys working in a team environment; able to work with little direct supervision
Significant depth and tenure of client relationships
Ability to lead and develop junior talent
Job Expectations:
Ability to travel up to 20% or as needed
Registration for FINRA Security Industry Essentials (SIE), 52, 63 and 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
Established trusted advisor to issues in the Texas region with existing and positive relationships with market professionals in the Texas region across the municipal securities industry
