Payroll Specialist

Description We are looking for a diligent Payroll Specialist to join our team in Austin, Texas. This role involves overseeing all aspects of payroll processing, including compliance with state laws, tax filings, and employee inquiries. The successful candidate will also play a crucial role in managing benefits and 401(k) related tasks. Responsibilities: Accurately process payroll for over 200 employees, considering the varying requirements of 40 state laws. Ensure all tax filings are processed accurately, including those not handled by Paylocity. Review all timecards for accurate submission and rectify any discrepancies. Regularly update payroll policies to ensure compliance with new state laws. Set up all immigration employees according to their status. Review quarterly tax packages for accuracy, resolving any issues as necessary. Assist the Accounting team with any month-end close payroll entries. Resolve all employee questions and issues in a timely manner. Import new HSA accounts into Paylocity monthly for agency checks and resolve any EDI feed issues. Assist with open enrollment processing and resolve any benefit deduction discrepancies. Assist with non-discrimination testing for benefits and provide Worker's Comp audit support as needed. Review and ensure validation reports for 401(k) are imported correctly, process semi-monthly 401(k) funding, and loan & distribution claims. Resolve any EDI feed issues related to 401(k) and assist with 401(k) audit support. Requirements Proficiency in administering 401k and RRSP Proficient with Paylocity software Experience with multi-state payroll management Knowledge of payroll taxes regulations and procedures Ability to reconcile payroll discrepancies Experience in processing payroll in a timely and accurate manner Understanding of deductions and how to implement them in payroll Knowledge of garnishments and how to handle them in payroll processes Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
