We're looking for a reliable candidate who has managerial, sales, and customer service experience. The ideal candidate would also have some experience with bowed stringed instruments (violin, viola, cello, or upright bass).
Manage day-to-day operations of two Austin violin shops, duties include but are not limited to:
- Manage sales associates including hiring, training, and scheduling
- Offer expert customer service to musicians young and old
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer disputes
- Order and maintain sheet music, instruments, bows, strings, and accessories inventory
- Place outbound collection calls for past due rental balances
- Drive company vehicle to school campuses to pick up and drop off merchandise, bows, and instrument repairs
- Keep company vehicle in good mechanical condition and up to date with state safety inspections
- Run regular backups and updates to server computers and point of sale and troubleshoot IT and network issues
- Oversee property maintenance including air conditioning units at both store locations
- Make cash and check deposits at the bank
- Coordinate with in-house luthiers and drive repairs between stores
- Coordinate with contracted luthiers and maintain record and balance of repairs completed by contractors
- Help process and fulfill e-commerce orders
Our manager will communicate regularly with the owners regarding all aspects of the business and help strategize to grow and develop the business. Our previous manager described the opportunity as an "entrepreneurial sandbox" for the right candidate.
