SalesAssociate 1910347 Your Role : This
budgeted position FY20 has access to perform sales, create store front displays
under direct supervision to achieve optimum customer service goals. Customer
Service responsibilities include receiving phone calls, creating special
orders, and ensuring all patients, visitors, and faculty with polite customer
satisfaction.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist customers on sales floor and at customer servicestations
Recognize needs with regard to merchandise location,pricing, and selection
Handle customer problems efficiently and politely tothe customer's satisfaction
Ensure sufficient stock levels, appropriately pricedfor customer satisfaction
Conduct inventory of stock on a regular schedule asestablished by the buyer
Maintain accurate inventory records
Recognize reorder needs
Notify buyer and assist in placing reorders
Assist in identifying and processing merchandise to bereturned to vendor for credit
Assist in receiving and pricing incoming merchandise
Notify buyer of any discrepancies
Assist in repricing stock such as markdowns, markups,etc.
Maintain accurate records of price changes, etc.
Ensure accuracy of purchase transactions
Perform customer purchase transactions quickly andaccurately
Count and balance cash register till as necessary
Process special orders
Receive and process mail and phone orders promptly
Correspond with customers as needed to ensuresatisfaction
Handle special order, general books, calculators, smallelectronics, etc. following standard procedures
Ensure work environment meets departmental objectives
Maintain attractive retail store in order to achievemerchandising objectives
Maintain clean and orderly stockrooms and work areas tofacilitate sales and stocking activities
PositionQualifications: Required:
High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
< 1 year relevant experience

40 hours
May require some evenings and weekends

Occasional: Noise: May include exposure to occupationalnoise levels which equal or exceed an 8-hr time-weighted average of 85decibels, requiring enrollment in VUMC's Hearing Conservation Programwhich includes training, use of hearing protection, and periodicaudiometry.
Continuous: Communication: Expressing or exchangingwritten/verbal/electronic information.
Environmental Conditions
Occasional: Chemicals and Gasses: Medications, cleaningchemicals, oxygen, other medical gases used in work area.
Occasional: Pathogens: Risk of exposure to bloodbornepathogens and other contagious illnesses.
Occasional: Radiation: May be exposed to occupationalradiation, requiring enrollment in VUMC's Radiation Safety Program whichincludes training, use of personal protective equipment with leadshielding, and personal dose monitoring.
