Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant in Memphis, Tennessee. The role will primarily involve working within a county clerk's office, assisting with the clean-up of past due books and reconciliations. The successful candidate will be expected to work with the General Ledger (G/L) and post journal entries as needed, in addition to reconciling a large backlog of accounts.Responsibilities: Assist in the clean-up of one year's worth of past due books and reconciliations Regularly work with the General Ledger System and post journal entries as required Conduct Bank Reconciliations and Cash Reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded Collaborate with the team to manage a significant backlog of reconciliations Contribute to the Month End Close process, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up-to-date Consistently maintain accurate customer credit records Address and resolve customer credit inquiries in a timely and detail oriented manner Closely monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.
