Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are offering a contract for a permanent position as an Accounts Payable Specialist in Memphis, Tennessee. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be a crucial part of our team, responsible for managing vendor relations, processing payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. You will be operating in a dynamic workplace, ensuring that all financial transactions are processed efficiently and accurately.Responsibilities: Manage vendor relationships, ensuring that all financial transactions are processed efficiently and accurately. Maintain an organized record of all accounts payable files. Actively participate in the resolution of purchase order, invoice, or payment discrepancies. Collaborate closely with the Receiving Department and Purchasing Department to address and resolve any issues related to shortages, pricing, or damages. Perform 3-way matching payment verification, from purchase order to receiving report to vendor invoice. Schedule and prepare vendor payments, taking advantage of any available discount opportunities. Provide necessary support to the Accounts Payable team. Carry out additional duties and special projects as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of the team. Requirements Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) Proven experience in Account Reconciliation Ability to handle Accrual Entries accurately Knowledge of General Ledger procedures Proficient in Data Entry Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
