Sr. Accountant

Description This search is being conducted by Steve Spinello.We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including monthly and year-end close, account reconciliations, and fixed asset management. You will work closely with the AP Manager to resolve AP-related issues and ensure the smooth operation of our financial department. Responsibilities: Conduct monthly and year-end close procedures, including adjusting journal entries and accruals Manage account reconciliations, ensuring balance sheet account reconciliation is accurate and up-to-date Oversee fixed asset management, including capital expenditures and tracking percentage of completion Collaborate with the AP Manager to reconcile AP and resolve any issues related to AP Utilize Microsoft Excel for various tasks and continue to learn advanced functions such as PIVOT and VLookup Prioritize tasks effectively to meet critical business deadlines Identify and implement process improvement opportunities within the accounting department Maintain a solid understanding of account reconciliation and apply this knowledge in day-to-day work Familiarize yourself with the company's GL systems, specifically Dynamics GP, and use this system for various accounting tasks Handle sales tax responsibilities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulationsRequirements 3+ years of general ledger accounting Proven experience in Adjusting Journal Entries and Accruals Proficient in Account Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation Demonstrable skills in Microsoft Excel and Dynamics GP Experience in handling Fixed Assets and Sales Tax Ability to work in a team environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must possess strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related fieldRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
