Description We are providing an opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The focus of this role is on maintaining and processing financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and managing ledger entries. You will be part of a team that plays a crucial role in the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. Responsibilities: Oversee the accounts payable process, including verifying invoices for payment, ensuring expenditures are charged to the correct accounts, and documenting approval. Assist with the check run process and reconcile supplier statements. Prepare and process journal entries and assist with other month-end close processes. Regularly prepare cash outlook reports. Prepare financial statement reports as well as annual and rolling budgets for various projects and entities on a monthly or quarterly basis. Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements. Maintain regular contact with key financial personnel to ensure smooth operations. Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP to efficiently manage financial data. Knowledge of the construction industry and related accounting standards is a plus. Work on accounting tasks related to construction projects as needed. Requirements Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger management Experience in preparing and posting Journal Entries Knowledge of Month End Close procedures Proficiency in using accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP Experience in the Construction industry is a plus Familiarity with Construction Accounting, Construction Cost and Construction Projects Accounting Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
