The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. In this role, you will perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Requirements
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Foundational knowledge in month end closings
General ledger experience preferred
Strong familiarity with financial reporting
Comprehensive knowledge of journal entries
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
