Senior Civil Engineer

WSP is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to join the Water Infrastructure and Design Division within the Mine Engineering Business Unit. This person will be responsible for the design, drawing and construction monitoring of infrastructure projects.The duties and responsibilities are to include the design, drawing and construction monitoring of infrastructure projects which includes but may not be limited to:Pipelines and ancillaries design (e.g. scour, air valve, pipe supports etc.)Pump station design (e.g. pump sizing, suction, discharge pipework configuration etc.)Pipeline hydraulic modelling (e.g. pipeline sizing, water hammer, ensuring compliance with relevant design codes etc.)Open Chanel Flow hydraulicsStorm Water DesignsEarthworks modelling in Civil 3D (e.g. stormwater drainage, platform and road layouts)Undertake planning, engineering design work with input to construction as required and as directed by Project Leaders or EngineersPrepare cost estimatesEnsure all designs and drawings are properly documented and checkedConstruction administration skills would be advantageousAttend site and other meetings, to action times timeously and effectivelyAchieve minimum financial productivity on all projectsEnsure effective systems are implemented for good record keeping – files, reports, drawings, construction date etc.Liaise with other staff working on projects at all levelsAssist with contract administration including preparation of certificates and “as built” drawings, construction dates etc.Ensure suitability of technical proposalsCompile letters, reports and prepare tender documentationProvide service excellenceCompliance with Quality Management SystemContribution to efficiency and effectiveness of sectorThe candidate must be able to undertake and review associated works designs and demonstrate a sound technical knowledge of contract and construction procedures.
