Underground Geotechnical Technician

Under the supervision of the Senior Underground Geotechnical Engineer, the Underground Geotechnical Technician supports ground control execution through geotechnical monitoring, quality assurance testing, and data collection. Key responsibilities include:Operational ResponsibilitiesInstall, calibrate, and troubleshoot geotechnical instruments (e.g., MPBX, seismographs, microseismic sensors).Support underground development and stope blast vibration monitoring programs.Conduct strength testing for grout, shotcrete, and backfill; assist with bolt pull testing.Maintain and update the geotechnical database, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.Assist in preparing QAQC reports and support laboratory mix design trials.Calculate and track backfill volumes to support stope backfill design and optimization.Health, Safety, and EnvironmentComply with OceanaGold Health and Safety Policy and Environment Policy.Report all personal injuries and incidents, assisting with investigations.Actively support and participate in safety and environmental initiatives.Monitor workplace incidents and hazards reporting to ensure effective risk mitigation.
