Job Title: Manager, Network and Telecommunications Job Code: 9780 Job Location: Greenville, TX Schedule: 5/8, Mon-Fri Job Description: The Network and Telecommunications Manager role is to manage individual(s) typically consisting of experienced professionals or lower level supervisors or associate managers. Leads, directs and reviews the work of direct report(s) who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Has hiring, firing, promotion and compensation authority within own organization, in accordance with management review and approval. Manages a team with focus on policy and strategy implementation. Establishes operational plans with measurable contribution towards the achievement of results of the job function. Focus is on short-term to medium-term operational plans (e.g. 1 – 3 years). Provides measurable input of new products, processes or standards in operational plans that will have some impact on the achievement of overall functional results. Typically does not have budget or Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability, but may manage certain processes or projects within a defined budget set by management. Work consists of making significant improvements of processes, systems, solutions, or products to enhance performance of job area. May develop new concepts or standards. Opportunities for problem solving and innovation are undefined, where information is difficult to obtain. Conducts extensive investigation to understand root cause of problems. Problems span a wide range of difficult and unique issues across the function and/or business area. This position is responsible for supporting and maintaining a positive working relationship with a specific subset of customers. They will be one of the primary POCs for a program area’s IT support and will be expected to work independently while communicating with management on upcoming tasks and projects. Essential Functions:

Lead a team of skilled network and infrastructure employees

Develop new members of the team both technically and professionally

Find gaps in the team’s knowledge and design training plans

Conduct performance reviews

Meet with customers to determine work priorities

Plan lifecycle replacement of networking, server and desktop hardware

Redesign network topology to improve performance and incorporate growth

Coordinate on-call schedule rotations

Plan periodic offsite trips to provide hands-on support

Work with program security and corporate to ensure compliance

Create/update documentation of Standard Operation Procedures for the department

Qualifications:

Active Top Secret clearance

Active, or ability to obtain, CompTIA Security + certification within 3 months

Minimum of 12 years of support covering a wide scope of IT functions

Familiar with the NIST framework or JSIG

Familiar with the security requirements that come with a restricted area

Experience working in Air-gapped environments

Microsoft Office 2016 and O365 suite

Active directory Users and Groups

Knowledge of DNS, and DHCP

Must have good project planning and time management skills

Preferred Additional Skills:

Must be able to work independently with moderate supervision

Interpersonal skills are necessary to assist and train others in computer systems

Ability to present ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly language to all levels of customers and management

Must have experiencing documenting day to day tasks.

Must be able to adapt, learn, and work in a fast passed environment with little assistance
