Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to become an integral part of our team in the education industry, based in Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves a range of accounting tasks, from managing Accounts Payable and Receivable to performing bank reconciliations and preparing journal entries for the month-end close. This is a hybrid role. Responsibilities: Manage daily accounting tasks, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Ensure all financial transactions are correctly recorded in the General Ledger Prepare and post journal entries for the month-end close process Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data Address and resolve accounting issues promptly, ensuring quick resolutions to avoid escalations Provide supportive, friendly, and efficient service to all team members Maintain a positive and engaging work environment through strong interpersonal communication Assist team members as needed, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.Requirements Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Have practical experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Demonstrable experience with Bank Reconciliations. Proficiency in maintaining and managing General Ledger. Experience in creating and managing Journal Entries. Demonstrated experience in Month End Close. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Knowledge of relevant accounting software and platforms. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information. Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of accounting. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team. Adherence to ethical standards and compliance with relevant regulations.
