Hope & Main’s Makers Market kitchen is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a

community of makers in a creative space that provides food service for the cafe,

catering, and member companies the opportunity to showcase their products.

This position reports to the Cafe & Market Kitchen Manager to ensure a

consistent cafe and market experience for our guests.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a cook or line cook in a cafe or restaurant setting is preferred.

Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high food quality.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Perform repetitive tasks such as chopping, slicing, and dicing.

Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of menu items, including but not limited to breakfast, sandwiches, salads, soups, and desserts, following established recipes and portion sizes.

Quality Control: Ensure that all food items are prepared to the highest quality standards and presentation, maintaining consistency in taste and appearance.

Food Safety: Strictly adhere to food safety guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and temperature control of ingredients, to maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.

Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and workstations, following hygiene and sanitation standards.

Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff, including chefs, and kitchen assistants, to coordinate food preparation and ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Timeliness: Prepare food items according to customer orders in a timely manner to meet service demands and minimize customer wait times.
