Transportation Planning Assistant

AECOM is seeking a part-time Transportation Planning Assistant in Providence, Rhode Island office.  We're looking for individuals with transportation planning or community engagement backgrounds looking to develop public engagement and data gathering skills. We have part-time openings to support our work as-needed with the Rhode Island Department of Transportation at MBTA Commuter Rail Stations in Rhode Island. Individuals will be part of a field-work team that will count passengers, with the possibility of additional assignments, pending individual’s interest in railroad or public transit-related subjects.This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Documenting and observing customer behavior and patterns as they use a specific ticket vending machine (TVM).Engaging with members of the public by asking them to fill out a TVM Survey.Supporting the survey design team with feedback on design effectiveness.
