The Sr Network Fiber OSP Engineer is responsible for network planning and engineering of all Shentel broadband networks to include copper and fiber optic networks. Also responsible for project management of major engineering initiatives as well as generating detailed engineering documentation to support the installation, configuration, and ongoing operations of the network. The positions requires coordinating with multiple vendors to provide Shentel with initial designs.Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. Other candidates with a strong technical background and substantial industry or military experience will be considered.Hold a valid government issued driver's licenseExperience Level:
7 or more years of experience in the telecommunications industry is required
5 or more years of experience in engineering or technical operations rolei. Budgeting and financial analysis
ii. BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
iii. Strong project management experience
iv. Fiber engineering or construction background
v. Experience coordinating with multiple vendors.Skill Requirements:
Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyKnowledge of:
Access technologies (HFC, RFOG, PON)
In-depth knowledge and strong outside plant to include copper, fiber, and coax fiber networks
