DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
POSITION SUMMARYLean Continuous Improvement EngineerThe Lean Champion is an internal expert with the full range of Lean Manufacturing tools who champions ongoing Lean Manufacturing efforts in our York, PA facility. The incumbent is accountable for using Lean techniques to increase employee engagement and foster our culture of continuous improvement and waste elimination. The Lean Champion works extensively as an active participant and facilitator of teams working to eliminate waste in work processes.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Works closely with the Kaizen Steering Committee to develop and maintain a road map for lean across the organization.
Facilitates cross-functional expert teams to drive breakthrough or best-in-class performance in people, quality, cost, material flow, and information flow.
Ensures best practices are implemented.
Partners with leadership to foster our continuous improvement culture.
Develops trust with supervision as a Lean expert and support resource.
Develops Lean Work Plan and provides feedback and direction using a data-driven, fact-based problem-solving approach.
Leads using lean tools to improve safety, quality, delivery, value, and eliminate waste.
Value Stream Mapping (current and future state)
Kaizen planning and facilitation

5S/Workplace Organization
Visual Management
Flow Concepts (Level Load Scheduling, Pull Systems, Kanban, JIT, Cell Design)
Continuous Improvement Process

Executes Rapid Improvement events.
Monitors and tracks improvements made through Lean initiatives with formal reporting & presentations.
Develops a scorecard of key metrics to monitor progress before and after process redesign.

Four (4) year college degree (BS/BA).
A Six-Sigma Black Belt.
Three (3) plus years of experience that has included utilizing Lean principles, Total Quality, 5s implementation, Kanban Systems, Toyota Production Systems (TPS), Six Sigma, 5S/Workplace Organization, Visual Management, SMED, Standard Work, Flow Concepts, Level Load scheduling, and other problem-solving CI tools.
Ability to demonstrate solid understanding and knowledge of all Lean and Manufacturing Principles, including Process, Information, and Material Flow.
Two (2) plus years of experience leading and implementing change in a manufacturing/distribution environment.
Two (2) plus years of experience leading rapid improvement teams, Kaizen events, and other Lean projects.
Demonstrated success in planning and leading successful Lean Kaizen events with cross-functional teams.
Ability to motivate teams and drive results.
High level of statistical knowledge and the ability to apply analysis techniques to product and process improvement projects.
Ability to break down complex situations and perform analysis of complex data and information to deliver effective solutions.
