This position performs assessment procedures and counseling relevant to alcohol and drug problems with a selected caseload of mentally ill patients. As a Drug and Alcohol Treatment Specialist 2, under supervision of and coordination with other professionals, you will contribute to treatment planning, staff education, and quality assurance activities pertinent to alcohol and drug abuse treatment. You will conduct assessment procedures of newly admitted patients for indications of substance abuse problems and make either written or oral recommendations for appropriate treatment services. You will maintain an assigned caseload of patients who will receive individual drug and alcohol counseling on a weekly basis. In addition, you will maintain an assigned caseload of patients who will receive group drug and alcohol treatment services on a weekly basis.Interested in learning more? Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of para-professional and one year of professional experience providing drug and alcohol counseling services directly to clients in a social work setting; and certification by the PA Chemical Abuse Certification Board as a "Certified Addictions Counselor"; orOne year of experience as a Drug and Alcohol Treatment Specialist 1; or

Two years of professional experience providing drug and alcohol counseling services directly to clients in a social work setting; and a bachelor's degree that includes 18 credits in the behavioral sciences; or

One year of professional experience providing drug and alcohol counseling services directly to clients in a social work setting and a master's degree with major coursework in addictions science, psychology or social work; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 18 college credits in the behavioral sciences.Other Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.Legal Requirements:

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
