Selinsgrove Center is seeking a compassionate Social Worker 2 to join our team of professionals. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Social Worker 2, you will be charged with the responsibility for initiating and maintaining on-going social service, contact with individuals, families, base service units, community agencies, legal guardians and advocates. You will have the opportunity to coordinate and oversee transition planning and placement for the individuals on your caseload. You will also be responsible for coordinating the 406 re-commitment process across the facility. Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Overtime required, as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or Forensic Social Worker 1 (commonwealth titles) (must have been employed in a commonwealth social worker job title on September 8, 2008, with continuous commonwealth employment);or

Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or a Forensic Social Worker 1 and a bachelor’s degree in social work or social welfare;or

Two years of professional experience providing direct public or private social work services, and a bachelor’s degree in social work or social welfare;or

A master's degree in social work or social welfare.

Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Legal Requirements:

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
