THE POSITIONAre you an Information Technology (IT) professional eager to expand your customer services skills? The Health and Human Services (HHS) IT Delivery Center provides end-to-end IT services to all staff in the Department of Human Services (DHS), the Department of Health (DOH), the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP), and the Pennsylvania Department of Aging (PDA). We are searching for a dedicated Network Specialist 1 to complete our team. Bring your skills and ambition to our department to start a new and exciting chapter in your career! DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this position, you will have high visibility and exposure throughout the departments serving as the on-site technician for the North Central District. You will have the opportunity to serve as the point of contact for LAN and WAN maintenance, support, and repair. Work includes diagnosing and solving user problems related to computer applications programming, debugging, data access, printer/PC operations, hardware problems, network communication problems, and other computer related matters. Work is performed independently using initiative and judgment to resolve user problems. Additional responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

Educating and assisting users in the proper use and maintenance of PC hardware and application software

Perform a full-range of IT user support services

Analyzing and resolving inter-connectivity issues

Assisting higher level network and server team support personnel with installation and support of network devices

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment.

Free parking.

Work hours are will range from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60 or 30-minute lunch, based on selected work schedule.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days per week. Telework schedule may vary and you may be required to report in-office more frequently. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Williamsport.

Although this is a telework position, you will be required to come to the Harrisburg office to pick up your equipment. Other reasons for coming into the office include: attend training, mandatory meetings, or on an ad hoc basis. Your supervisor will give you at least a 24 hour notice and all travel will be at your own expense.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician;or

Successful completion of the Information Technology Intern – Bachelor Program;or

Three years of experience providing information technology support services including hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance within a network environment;or

One year of experience providing information technology support services including hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance within a network environment, and an associate's degree in any information technology field;or

An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of experience providing information technology support services including hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance within a network environment.
