Join the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s Bureau of Marketing and Strategic Communications as our newest Communications Coordinator (Wildlife Conservation Education Specialist). DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis Communications Coordinator position assists our Marketing and Strategic Communications team with producing written content for communications and marketing efforts. This includes communications plans, website copy, social media, newsletters, email blasts, brochures, annual reports, outreach events, and more! You will also have the opportunity to serve as a communications liaison between the Game Commission’s six regions and bureaus, regularly communicate with select outreach networks, and assist in reporting on agency-related events and activities as well as planning press conferences and other outreach events.Staying up to date on industry trends is essential for this role to assist with developing, implementing, and evaluating communications strategies designed to advance agency’s strategic goals, news, and initiatives, as well as making recommendations for future projects. Full-time employment

Work hours are 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 45-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of professional experience in the development and implementation of conservation education programs; and a bachelor’s degree with course work in wildlife management, journalism, communications, or a closely related field;or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

This position requires some weekend and overnight travel.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

Seasoned professional with quality experience in the communications or public relations fields.

Strong writer with creative and interpersonal communication skills.

Superior time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Knowledge and passion for hunting, wildlife conservation and/or the outdoors highly desired.

Works well in both independent and team settings.

Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe InDesign and Photoshop and able to produce visually compelling documents and presentations.

Attends trainings to improve job skills and stay current on communications and marketing trends.

Able to handle multiple tasks at once.

Traverse rough terrain in all weather conditions.
