THE POSITIONThe Department of Corrections, SCI Phoenix is seeking an enthusiastic individual to j oin our dental team. Our offices operate Monday to Friday during regular business hours, allowing for evenings and weekends free. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Dental Assistant at the Department of Corrections, you will collaborate with skilled dentists to deliver essential dental care to our incarcerated individuals with empathy and professionalism. Your responsibilities will include aiding in patient examinations and treatments, organizing appointments, overseeing patient traffic, managing dental records, offering chair-side support, upkeeping dental tools, and conducting dental lab tasks. Full-time employment.

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30 minute lunch.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please note, selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $34,621.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience in a dental office or clinic; or

Successful completion of an accredited Dental Assisting certificate program; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

Successful completion of the Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) Exam as required by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.

Additional Requirement:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

You must pass a background investigation.
