The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution at Dallas is seeking a highly motivated electrician that enjoys teaching to join our dedicated team as a Corrections Electrical Trade Instructor. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Corrections Electrical Trade Instructor for the Department of Corrections, you will be responsible for the instruction of inmates in the practices, methods and procedures of the electrical trade at a journeyman level by demonstration, explanation, and close supervision during training and work assignments.You will be instructing inmates both through text book and hands on training on the methods and procedures of repair and new construction of both low and high voltage circuitry. This includes: lighting, power outlets, conduit, underground circuits, switch boxes, breaker panels, switchgear, transformers, motors, electrical appliances and generators. You will be responsible for planning and assigning work to inmates receiving electrical trade instruction and to be able to assist inmates at all levels of training both through communication and hands on demonstration and reviewing and inspecting work in progress and upon completion for adherence to standards of the electrical trade. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment (40-hour work week)

Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

Salary:Candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $48,425 (before taxes)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Five years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment used in buildings;or

Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the electrical trade;or

An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the electrical trade.

Other Requirements:

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
