The Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness, a unit within the Social Science Research Institute at The Pennsylvania State University is a nationally recognized applied research center focused on improving the health and well-being of military service members, veterans, and their families. We are currently a team of approximately 55 full-time research faculty, program managers, and research and support staff. The Clearinghouse is part of The Pennsylvania State University, a leading public land grant institution known for its world-class research, teaching, and outreach.We seek to hire a Marketing and Communications Specialist to lead and support a variety of unit-wide communication initiatives. This position will lead the conception, development, creation, and dissemination of information.Responsibilities: Following are the key responsibilities of this position.

Lead the development of a strategic marketing plan for the Clearinghouse to include print, digital media, websites, and social media accounts.

Collaborate with project teams to develop marketing strategies to promote Clearinghouse research and programs.

Create content for information sheets, brochures, articles, newsletters, and other internal and external communications.

Review, modify, and facilitate social media outreach and communication engagement plans to include newsletters, blogs, and posts.

Share marketing management resources and develop best practices.

Collaborate with the Learning Design and Communication team on creative efforts to develop promotional and educational content.

Develop a community outreach and communication plan for the Schools Empowering At-Risk Students (SEAS) project which connects school personnel to various online learning modules that support military connect students and families.

Raise awareness of website content by partnering with potential stakeholders.Education and Experience: This position requires a Bachelor's degree preferably in a marketing-related field, and 1+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Digital and brand marketing experience, market analysis, and social and web marketing experience are strongly desired. Knowledge of military culture and military families is preferred.This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from the date of hire, with an excellent possibility of renewal.Application: Interested applicants must complete the Penn State application process.
