We believe our cutting-edge science and manufacturing, fueled by data and digital technologies, have the potential to transform the practice of medicine, turning the impossible into possible for millions of people.ABOUT THE ROLE:The Manager, Logistics Operations position, based at the Swiftwater, PA site, has responsibility for supply chain related activities, under the Warehouse & Logistics Operations team, within the Vaccines Manufacturing & Supply Function. This position will report to the Director of Warehouse & Logistics Operations and will play critical role in both local site and global logistics initiatives. This role will be involved with the management and leadership of teams, and performing transportation related duties (outbound and intra-site shipping operations.) Outbound Shipping Operations:

Oversight of daily outbound logistics processes, to ensure shipments are processed in a timely, compliant and safe manner, while maintaining cold-chain and chain-of-custody requirements.

Monitoring of Commercial and Non-Commercial Sharepoint requests, to provide review and approval of outbound requests where needed, and closure of records upon shipment completion.

Participates on cross-functional project teams, whose intent is to bring further efficiencies to global supply chain operations.

Responsible for managing interface with International Customer Service & Compliance team, under Materials Management, relating to process development and performance for exports of commercial and non-commercial shipments.

Intra-site Shipping Operations:

Responsible for managing the intra-site logistics process, which incorporates the timely, compliant and safe transport of products, materials and equipment within the Swiftwater site.

Oversight of the 3rd party logistics intra-site contract, management and drivers

Leads the Scheduling, Maintenance and Qualification (where applicable) of transport vehicles within the Warehouse & Logistics Operations team.

Interface with vehicle leasing and labor companies.

Supports process improvement efforts, including, but not limited to labor, equipment and procedures.

Logistics Compliance:

Responsible for maintaining training and access to Quality Systems

Performs process audits and recommends remediation, which will yield greater system efficiencies and maintain compliance for all areas under Warehouse & Logistics Operations.

Lead audit discussions with internal (Finance, Quality, HSE) and external (FDA, TSA, HHS, FAA, OSHA) agencies for all outbound and intra-site logistics related activities.

Act as the Swiftwater site TSA Facility Screening Coordinator approving TSA access requests and Logistics Operations TSA shipment quarterly audits.

Manage IATA/DG training and certification process for Warehouse & Logistics Ops. team members.

Responsible for Inventory Control (cycle count process) for Logistics Operations managed storage bins.

Logistics Personnel:

Provides personnel management to develop Logistics personnel, for increased company value and enhanced personal growth.

Conducts regular departmental meetings and maintains open lines of communication.

Conducts timely performance appraisals, providing employee rewards and discipline where needed.

Safety:

Responsible for performing routine safety audits of Logistics Operations, to ensure team members are performing their duties utilizing PPE and safe practices.

In conjunction with HSE, coordinates and conducts spot audits of site dock areas, and provides remediation recommendation and follow-up to building managers/process owners.

Participates in site and department SOR and PASS programs.

This position requires functional support and interaction at the site level (in support of local and global operations), as well as collaboration up through the global level with internal Sanofi affiliates (international sales, global supply chain and external manufacturing.) In addition, this role will be exposed to external vendors and service providers, as well as domestic and international customers.

This position has responsibility of managing FTE (non-exempt) and contracted labor. This individual also works closely with the Director of Warehouse & Logistics Operations on financial controls for the department, including budget review. Key indicators for this position are based on Safety, Compliance, Customer Service, Team Performance and Fiscal Responsibility.

Scope:The Logistics Manager is empowered to make business-related decisions, from an operational and process-owner standpoint. This includes but is not limited to allocation and positioning of resources (including personnel) and process-related changes.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, or applicable discipline (i.e. Business,) is preferred.

Managerial experience (process and/or personnel) is preferred.

5 to 10 years of supply chain related experience, with prior pharmaceutical/biological industry experience preferred
