The Swiftwater, PA site is an end-to-end vaccine manufacturing site which includes both upstream drug substance manufacturing (seed and vaccine antigen manufacturing), as well as downstream drug product manufacturing (formulation, filling, inspection, and packaging). The site is located on over 500 acres in the Poconos mountains. Manufacturing Technology department (MTech) drives the vaccines industrialization and improvement of processes and products. It embarks new technologies and digital trends and is the keeper of manufacturing process knowledge. MTech is at the crossroads of R&D and production as the team is spread over nine production sites. The successful candidate will join the Bacterial Process Development group of MTech supporting the manufacturing and development of vaccines. Responsibilities
Perform scientific experiments (e.g., process development and manufacturing troubleshooting studies) with a predefined goal
Participate in the evaluation of process analytical technologies (PAT) to gain enhanced process understanding and product control
Complete tasks in a safe manner within the regulations of a chemistry lab and maintain proper records (lab notebook, etc.)
Literature search and data analysis
Basic Qualifications
Must be working towards a BS, MS or PhD degree in Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Life Sciences, Chemical Engineering or similar at an accredited university with GPA >3.0
Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Must have permanent US work authorization
Other Skills / Competencies:
Prior hands-on experience using modern laboratory instrumentation strongly preferred
Organized, detail and results oriented, excellent record-keeping skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills
Analytical thinking, integrity, persistence, and energy
