POSITION SUMMARY:

The Resident Assistant (RA) at Northside Common Ministries (NCM) plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe, supportive, and orderly environment for residents. The RA is responsible for supervising residents, enforcing shelter rules, conducting safety checks, and providing assistance with daily activities and needs. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and a commitment to the mission of NCM.Duties include but are not limited to:

Conduct hourly safety checks and maintain detailed logbooks.

Provide supervision and support to shelter residents.

Address and de-escalate conflicts and report incidents to the Shelter Coordinator.

Ensure the safety and security of the shelter premises at all times.

Enforce shelter policies regarding behavior, and prohibited items.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date logbooks and incident reports

Participate in shift handovers and ensure a smooth transition between shifts

Support residents in keeping their living areas clean and tidy

Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate staff

Be knowledgeable of and follow all applicable regulations, procedures, and policies for Goodwill of SWPA as the employment sites, including but not limited to attendance, training requirements, and safety policies and procedures

All other duties as assigned within the scope of homeless services

Ensure cleanliness and general maintenance of facility, reporting any issues to the designated staff.Travel Required: No travel required.External Hiring Range: $15.75 up to $16.38/hourSchedule: Shifts 8a-4p (Monday-Friday)QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

1 year experience with diverse populations; knowledge of homeless shelter operation and/or social services preferred.

Must have some experience with facilitation of workshops and service referrals.REQUIRED CLEARANCES, LICENSES, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Candidates are expected to provide current valid clearances (Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprints Clearance, and PATCH) prior to first day of employment.
