Job Description- VP Procurement

Our client is seeking a VP Procurement to join there global sourcing team due to growth.

Headquartered in Groveport, OH, Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer of industrial waste and recycling processing systems. Our client provides various waste solutions all over the world, direct to the consumer; from simple compaction equipment to multi-million-dollar, hi-tech waste processing systems. With over 100 U.S. and foreign patents, companies turn to Komar for our innovations in volume reduction processes that provide rapid ROI by reducing transportation, energy, maintenance, and labor costs while minimizing an organization's waste stream and carbon footprint. Established in 1977, Our client's products enable its customers to improve their processing of waste streams (e.g., corrugate, wood, e-waste, organics, mixed waste) while reducing their carbon footprint and their transportation, energy, maintenance, and labor costs.

The Procurement Manager's primary role involves the strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, tactical purchasing, and cross-functional collaboration to support production schedules and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement procurement strategies to acquire materials and components efficiently.

Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains.

Issue requests for quotes, evaluate suppliers, and negotiate contracts to secure the best pricing and terms.

Issue purchase orders and manage procurement processes using proprietary software.

Monitor inventory levels, analyze inventory patterns, and manage stock purchases to optimize availability.

Track, analyze, and interpret supply chain data to identify trends and recommend purchasing strategies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, quality) to meet technical and quality specifications.

Evaluate products, suppliers, and pricing to improve cost-efficiency in key business areas.

Manage international logistics to coordinate the import and export of materials, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with trade regulations.

Ensure procurement processes comply with internal policies and external regulations.

Global Supply Chain Development in Emerging Markets: Lead the expansion and development of supply chains in emerging markets, particularly in Asia and Eastern Europe, identifying new suppliers and partners, and establishing robust supply chains that can scale with the company's growth.

Lead, mentor, and manage procurement teams across multiple sites to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.

Work with suppliers and vendors to improve pricing, delivery schedules, and product quality.

Prepare reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, market conditions, and demand forecasts.Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field, preferred.

5+ years of purchasing/supply chain experience, industrial manufacturing industry preferred (domestic and international).

Strong communication skills both orally and in written (email) format.

Experience managing a team

Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.

Ability to read and interpret drawings, preferred.

Highly organized and able to multi-task is required.

Advanced analytical skills.

Self-motivated, pro-active, and goal-oriented.

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and data reporting.

Knowledge of Komar's industry is preferred, or similar industries.

Understanding of financial implications of inventory levels and strong aptitude in math.
