Senior Electrical Engineer

AECOM is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer within the Buildings and Places business line in Philadelphia, PA. This position will offer the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including, but not limited to, various buildings, repair facilities, train stations, high-voltage substations and electrified railroads. Prepare design drawings and documents, technical specifications, cost estimates, calculations, and studies associated with power system. Complete electrical power and lighting designs for projects of all sizes.Makes major design recommendations and design decisions with input from senior staff.Plans design work, calculates costs, and time schedules to assign design duties to junior staff working on projects.Prepare one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications.Coordinates design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliersExercise judgment on details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.Perform engineering-related calculations and develop drawings and visual aidsMaintains accurate project documentation and design data for permanent project files.Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.Acts as an adviser and reviews correspondence prepared by junior project team members.Analyzes problems and writes reports.Assists in project checking for quality control on other projects.Perform site investigations and walk-downs.Mentors/trains junior staff members.
