We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in ourPhiladelphia office. The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead projects as a project manager or the lead engineer for the delivery of large and highly complex projects. They will work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include project management, engineering analysis, design and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings. Additional responsibilities include working within the project's monetary budget, leading training and mentoring efforts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.Principal Responsibilities
Lead design efforts for the analysis of electrical systems; Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards
Performs site assessments and generates detailed analysis and technical reports
Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively. Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication
Provide in-process design reviews of electrical system design, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence. Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements
Train, mentor, and motivate staff
Provide technical assistance in resolution of field issues with minimal support from senior staff
Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering; Lead research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work; Identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
Lead project interviews and project presentationsRequired Skills/Abilities
Adept in the technical aspects of one's discipline; advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems
Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)
Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS; Proficient with Ado e or Bluebeam Revu
Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others
Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
Strong training and mentoring skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to travel up to 25% with occasional overnight staysEducation and Experience
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, required
Professional Engineer (PE) License required
14 years of experience minimum required, 16 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
