Where you will work: This individual may be based remotely in NJ, PA, NY, IL, TX or CA with the ability to travel into the nearest office as needed

A Day in the Life of the Director, Solutions Architecture:

Lead and develop the vision and execution of Solutions Architecture strategy to drive more complex solution activity and increase new revenue across managed and complex solutions.

Work Closely with Sales Engineering, Commercial Product team and Sales to facilitate deep dive discovery sessions to capture complex requirements from customers and deliver supportable solutions

Develops design standards across all sales verticals, and establish good practices in solutions architecture across team members

Lead Solutions Architects and Engineers supporting long-term technical solutions by defining and developing business strategies, technical standards, roadmaps and use cases

Support business development team to help develop strategy and facilitate requests.

Develop Vendor Architecture SMEs who drive relationships and connect Astound products with vendor capabilities and roadmaps.

Tight alignments with Advanced Services team to drive meaningful value for customers and ensure on-boarding and day two support is a seamless customer experience

Establish measurable reporting of complex sales activity and closed/won dashboards.

Work with cross-functional teams to continually improve overall understanding of commercial product offerings and drive awareness of product gaps through ICB reporting and customer meetings.

Demonstrate Industry trend expertise specific to managed services and AI developments.

Researches and leads others to research new technology areas. Works with industry partners to develop new standards

Review proposed solutions and identify gaps in systems design and workflow process.

Ability to set clear expectations with your Team, boundary partners, and customers to drive accountability and resolution

Encourage solution sharing and knowledge transfer among the Sales Engineering team by fostering an environment of teamwork, training, and collaboration

Drive effective communication with sales team about product road maps, engineering releases, managing technical escalations and setting appropriate expectations with customer deliverables

Support Commercial Network Operations team as required through complex design reviews and participate in vendor training.

Actively support, promote and advance all aspects of Astound's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) goals and initiatives, recognizing it as a business priority, including creating a work environment where all employees feel valued, respected, heard and empowered to do their best work.

What You Bring to the Table:

Experienced leader who has lead architects or senior engineers in the past who create complex managed solutions and who has participated in implementation of those designs

8+ years of multi-service operator (MSO) (preferred) or related telecommunications experience in technology, network design and engineering or project management

8+ years' experience in Sales Engineering, Network Engineering or Architecture

5 + years of SD-WAN SME or engineer

3+ years of custom WIFI experience

Natural curiosity in industry trends a d technical solutions specific to Enterprise and Carrier networking.

Strong understanding of Cloud, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, and Networking technologies

General knowledge of commercial voice solutions and UCaaS

Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and develop training content

Strong financial modeling skills and able to articulate design requirement costs to the finance team

History of attracting, developing, engaging and retaining highly motivated and skilled team members

Proven ability to influence internal and external stakeholders and build consensus

Ability to lead teams delivering complex solutions in a time sensitive and highly viable fashion.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills both internally and externally to customers

Proven ability to influence internal and external stakeholders and build consensus

Comfortable setting realistic expectations and managing a high-performing team using conflict and issue resolution skills

Strong sales advocate with effective client facing and relationship building skills

Experienced in identifying customer initiatives and requirements and connecting them to internal products and services

Advanced understanding of service providers and MSO network architectures and technologies

Ability to multi-task and translate complicated technical needs to non-technical audiences

Sharp financial and analytical business skills

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Base Salary: The base salary range for this position is $155,000 - $175,000 annually, plus opportunities for bonus, benefits and commission, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities.
