Position Summary The leader will oversee and collectively lead a team of design and/or construction professionals. The Director, Operations will report up through the Office Leader and coordinate closely with the Office Leader and leadership counterparts, including Group Leads and Project Directors, within the office to form a high-performing leadership team for the office. The Director, Operations will be accountable for the portfolio of projects from a sales/client relations and/or execution and delivery perspective and oversee work under their purview to ensure that project execution systems and procedures are being successfully implemented at an office level. The Director, Operations will be responsible for ensuring projects are appropriately staffed and work closely with the respective Group Leads to ensure that resource commitments are coordinated. Approximately 50-75% of the Director, Operations time will be internally focused on overseeing day-to-day operations with the remaining 25-50% spent on business development activities and recruiting activities. The Director, Operations may be required to lead key projects in a Project Director / Project Manager role, but the target billability for these individuals should not exceed 50%.Responsibilities Provide inspirational leadership for the design / construction staff on their team.Work closely with project leaders and teams to develop project approaches to match the delivery method for the project while maintaining quality and integrity of the deliverables and role of the Professional of Record.Actively review portfolio of projects on recurring basis and assess from a risk review perspective.Assist in the development of annual business planning efforts to meet CRB’s strategic vision and annual goals. This will include the development of an annual business plan for the operations under direction of the Regional Vice President and Office Leader. Recruit and attract top industry talent to CRB. Develop and coach staff to meet their career aspirations and goals and to build a strong talent pipeline.Ensure every project has the proper quality plan in place and hold teams accountable for meeting the expectations of the quality plan.Support the development and growth of the office using common goals, objectives, procedures, culture, and policies as those of other CRB offices. Support development of KPIs on a recurring basis and provide input and support as needed. Serve as client point of contact for new and existing clients by participating in business development and networking activities, maintaining personal client relationships.Develop win and project delivery strategies for key pursuits and ensure an integrated approach is consistently applied to each project whenever possible.Function as a key member of the Office Leadership Team, optimizing the performance of execution teams while furthering an office’s advancement toward a more integrated model.Team champion of good project execution by providing oversite of compliance with Documentation Standards and Quality Program compliance and high standard of deliverables.  Monitor and assist on high-risk projects.Work intimately with counterparts to achieve productive working relationships resulting in successful outcomes for all participants.Support project teams so that our projects are adequately staffed with qualified staff and projects are completed within budgets and schedules while meeting client needs, business objectives, and design and construction guidelines.Manage program of projects and project managers within an office to ensure successful completion and coordination of all efforts.Work with project managers to prepare proposals and labor fee estimates.
