Customer Service Representative, Part-time

Postbox Philly is an independently owned “pack and ship” mailbox store opening spring 2024 on South Street in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood of Philadelphia. The role of Customer Service

Representative is a key member of our growing team! You will be responsible for supporting the

successful operations and sales growth for our retail location. Customer Service Representatives

support the store manager and provide outstanding customer services to our customers with efficiency and accuracy. The ability to remain upbeat and positive throughout the day, while engaging in a fast-paced environment, will make you highly successful in this role.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

 Support the day-to-day operations of a retail location

 Provide prompt, efficient and courteous customer service

 Assist customers to determine the best way to ship their packages

 Assist customers with document services

 Pack merchandise for shipment and process the shipment

 Ring sales in a computerized register

 Assist monitoring cost control and expenses

 Assist with completing orders and inventory procedures

 Complete required daily, weekly, and monthly tasks timely and accurately

 Communicate clearly and productively with your co-workers and store owner

 Follow all operational systems and company guidelines

 Proactively handle customer complaints and resolve customer issues

 Periodically responsible for opening and closing the store

 Maintain a high level of cleanliness and order of the store, restrooms, back of house and the

front sidewalk or street when necessary. Keep these areas free of trash and debris and highlight

the store entrance in a welcoming professional manner.

 Other related duties as assigned

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

 Strong interpersonal skills, effective oral/written communication skills and the ability to work

well with others

 Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Manual hand

dexterity required to operate Point of Sale System, copiers, packaging tools, sorting and placing

mail and packages in designated locations and complete customer paperwork.

 Very helpful to have an outgoing personality, exceptional customer service skills and productive teamwork in a retail-service environment

 Strong ability to follow directions

 Basic mathematical computing knowledge is helpful

 Good computer skills with knowledge of internet applications

 Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge is a plus but not required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 N/A

QUALIFICATIONS:

 High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required

 Positive customer service and hospitality experience strongly preferred

 Ability to support managers and co-workers to meet customer service and sales goals

 Adobe/ Microsoft office and Postal Mates POS system experience a plus

Schedule: Highly flexible, up to 29 hours/week

Hourly compensation: $16-18/hour, commensurate with experience and credentials
