THE POSITION:

The Department of Transportation is currently on the lookout for a skilled individual to join their team as a Transportation Technician. This role involves carrying out construction materials inspection tasks and other associated responsibilities at a journeyman level. As part of this role, you will be responsible for conducting materials inspection services to verify adherence to contract specifications in order to help the Department achieve its objectives of cost reduction without compromising on quality. All decisions related to these responsibilities will be made in accordance with established policies and procedures, and will be confined to the scope of authority assigned to the specific positions.

Full-time employment

Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

Vendor-controlled flex schedule.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time ad-hoc during the Winter season. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; or

One year of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

This particular position requires possession of a Class C non-commercial driver's license.
