THE POSITION:The Department of Transportation is currently looking for a skilled individual to join their team as a Transportation Construction Inspector. As part of this role, you will be responsible for assessing and deciding on the necessary actions to be taken while operating heavy machinery in order to complete designated duties. Proficiency in handling the equipment is crucial to achieve the intended outcomes while ensuring a secure environment for the operator, team members, and the community at large.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Vendor-controlled flex schedule.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time ad-hoc during the Winter season. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Three years of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; or
Three years of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; ; or
One year as an Engineering Technician (commonwealth title); or
Two years as a Transportation Technician or Construction Cost Technician 1 (commonwealth titles); or
One year of construction inspection experience, and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
This position requires possession of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
