Description We are in the search for an Assistant Controller to become part of our team located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This role is pivotal in leading and executing critical business analysis and financial plans for our operations. The Assistant Controller will also be responsible for providing financial direction, maintaining financial and cost control systems, and developing analytical tools for decision support.Responsibilities: Lead the supervision and coaching of a professional accounting and financial staff Engage actively in establishing, executing, and reporting progress against both tactical and strategic direction for the operation including financial and non-financial metrics Maintain financial and cost control systems to provide accurate and timely information Develop monthly forecasts and prepare annual operating plans for the location Provide financial direction, analysis, and alternatives for marketing on setting prices and driving the richest product mix for the location Develop analytical tools for decision support, and ensure their accountability for the ROC Database and progression Execute critical business analysis and financial plans for the plant and business operations Ensure the analysis provided is accurate, timely, and contains adequate options and sensitivity to drive key business and financial decisions Supervise and coach the development and prioritization of activities of a professional accounting and financial staff. Requirements Applicants must possess strong skills in Month End Close procedures, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting Proficiency in Analytics is required, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights Experience in Supervising is necessary, as the role involves managing and guiding a team to meet financial objectives A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is expected Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is preferred A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role or in the field of finance or accounting is required Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant financial regulations is necessary Proficiency in financial software applications and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, is expected Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary, with the ability to manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously The ability to work collaboratively within a team and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders is essential The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion is required.
