Please do not apply here, apply internally through Workday.If you are NOT a current employee or student, please click "Apply" and complete the application process for external applicants.JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry Research, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a Human Research Technologist (Sleep Research Assistant) to assist the sleep research team with various research projects. Candidate will assist in the development of project specific sleep data management documentation. Collaborate with project coordinators, statisticians, clinical investigators, clinical personnel, and other data management personnel to plan and implement sleep data management tasks for research projects.

Work Hours: 1st & 2rd shift hours, as required by sleep study schedule, including some weekends. 8a-4p or 2p-10p

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:Work on observational cohort studies, experimental studies and clinical trials providing behavioral therapy to human subjects.Recruit and schedule subjects/participants for lab visitsMaintain subject/participant database & obtain informed consentOrganize lab materials, conduct data collection using standardized questionnaires and structured interviews, monitor incoming data for accuracyTroubleshoot for technical problems and maintain the integrity of the project protocolMonitor the safety and confidentiality of the project and its subjects/participantsCode and score observational dataEnsure data is scored and entered correctly and reconciled per PI guidelinesLearn and perform actigraphy, polysomnography (PSG), 12 lead EKGs, and performance testing and rating scalesTrain others to collect, enter, score and interpret dataPrepare reports summarizing data gatherings; meet with appropriate individuals to discuss data and insure consistent interpretation or resultsThis position typically requires an Associate's degree or higher (Master's degree preferred) plus 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Comfortable collecting and analyzing biological samples (saliva, urine, blood) and knowledge of phlebotomy desired, but not required.This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.The following clearances must be successfully completed for this position:
