- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
- 5+ years demonstrated experience in the field of mechanical engineering, with relevant experience on electrical or electro-mechanical devices.
- Experience with heat transfer through conduction, natural convection, and forced convection applications and related techniques for electronics.
- Designing sheet metal enclosures for control and power electronic equipment arrangement.
- Knowledge of packaging requirements related to high voltage equipment.
- Designing cast and molded components.
- Design of machined and fabricated components.
- 3D CAD Modeling tools.
- Finite element simulation tools for mechanical loads, such as Ansys.
- Ability to travel 10% of the time.
- MS Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Proficient in Unigraphics, ANSYS, Icepak, CFD fluid and thermal analysis skills, Matlab software tools
- Knowledge of voltage isolation and current conduction in buss bars, terminals and connectors.
- Experience with air cooled heat sink design and heat spreaders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of statistical analysis or Six Sigma certified.
- Designing cab sheet metal structure to incorporate equipment installations, working closely with systems and customer teams on required interfaces.
- Supporting design of control and power electronic devices and panels, busbars, inverter components, and related equipment.
- Lead and execute requisition projects, including design, structural analysis, validation, and production launch of control groups.
- Support manufacturing and supply chain with new product builds.
- Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
- Document and communicate results of technical data generated.
- Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives.
- Share information and promote open dialogue.
