Product Portfolio Manager - Woodcare And Stain - JR2420386DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Portfolio Manager , Woodcare and Stain, USCA working with the Product Director will help develop the product strategy for assigned categories across multiple sales channels in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
Included in Specialty Paints Segment would be concrete coatings, porch and floor, stucco and masonry.
You will increase profitable growth of the product lines across all sales channels. You will also develop a detailed understanding of the main reasons for their category and products for the target market segments, gain insights on competitive products and their perceived value.
This position can be a fully remote role and will report to the Product Director. There could be occasional travel up to a few times per month.Key Responsibilities
Product Portfolio Management - Develop product value propositions by product platform, review and demonstrate global projects for potential development, assist in financial product performance and product roadmap development. Ability understand data to build actions based on category performance.
Product Development - Collaboration with technical lab associates to understand viability of new technologies for development of portfolio differentiation and drive prioritization of formula revisions and/or product launches.
Competitive Analysis - Deep understanding of competitive product portfolio, new products, SWOT analysis.
New Product Launches - Preparation and review of stage gate and product launch documents/business cases, customer field trials, project management, label design, communications (with marketing) as well as label and finished goods management to minimize obsolescence costs.
Product Lifecycle Management - Assist in development of criteria for end-of-life cycle; perform analysis for those candidates, decision and communication of products eliminated and replacement products.
Communication - Assist Product Director with the interfacing, influencing and driving alignment internally across key partners including the PPG leadership team, marketing, account and sales team, R&D and other cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
5+ years of Product Management and/or Development, Technical, Marketing experience and/or related experience within sales.
Bachelor's degree in Business, related technical field, or Marketing.
Experience in the home improvement/paint/coatings/Woodcare/Stain industry would be beneficial.#LI-HybriPPG pay ranges and benefits can vary by location which allows us to compensate employees competitively in different geographic markets.
