They are responsible for developing and leading proposal writing groups for faculty and postdoctoral trainees, providing consultations to individual faculty and teams, and assisting in writing proposals of strategic importance. They will develop relationships with early career and senior faculty members to ensure that their work is relevant and is meeting the needs of the investigators. This position is a Grade: 9 - 40 with an approximate salary range of $55,390-$66,190 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications

Leadership and management of writing for faculty and postdoctoral trainees. (40%)

Facilitate and manage writing groups aimed at improving faculty members' writing skills and grant success rates. Conduct and lead writing sessions, providing constructive feedback on drafts to enhance quality and competitiveness. Connect faculty with relevant resources and mentors to support their development and improve their grant-writing proficiency. Develop and maintain a schedule of writing groups aligned with key grant submission periods and affinity groups, ensuring optimal timing for faculty development. Works with the Program Manager for postdoctoral affairs to develop programming for postdocs.

Grant proposal writing and editing (30%)

Collaborate with faculty teams to outline grant proposals and allocate technical components.

Writes non-technical sections of proposals, ensuring clarity and coherence Edits proposals to maintain a consistent voice and enhance overall readability.

Develops and maintains writing resources (20%)

Manages proposal library with up to date with funded proposals from faculty. Develops and maintains proposal boilerplate language that can be used by faculty grant writers. Gathers resources for various grant agencies and develop appropriate means for sharing with campus

Website and communications support (10%)

Writes and develops content for Research Development website.
