THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections is seeking an enthusiastic individual who possesses exceptional attention to detail to become a part of our team as an Institutional Parole Assistant. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs an Institutional Parole Assistant, your role will involve providing both clerical and technical support within the institutional parole office. You will play a crucial part in managing the parole release process for inmates, ensuring that their release aligns with the legal standards governing offender release and the policies set forth by the Pennsylvania Parole Board. Your responsibilities will include conducting interviews with inmates to assess their home plan requirements, overseeing the outcomes of drug screenings, evaluating the findings from home plan investigations, tracking status changes, and reviewing results from Community Corrections Center (CCC) referrals, as well as Crime Victim Act payments. Additionally, you will be vigilant in monitoring any misconduct or infractions that may arise prior to an inmate's release. Your duties will also encompass the preparation of Release Orders, correspondence, memos, and monthly status reports, along with generating Criminal Histories (RAP sheets) for cases scheduled on the monthly docket.Interested in learning more? Full-time employment, 40 hours per week

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 60 or 65.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Four years of experience as a Clerical Assistant 2 in the Department of Corrections or Probation and Parole Board (commonwealth title); or

One year of complex clerical experience; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.Other Requirements:
