In this position, you will manage a range of bookkeeping tasks, including recording, reviewing, classifying, and processing inmate transactions and revenue-generating activities. Your duties will involve preparing and issuing release forms and notifications for inmates who are discharged, creating supporting letters for balance-of-account checks, and refunding prepaid phone time to inmates' accounts. Additionally, upon their release, you will review personal property lists and retrieve items to be returned to inmates. You will also oversee all inmate cash slips to ensure proper authorization and verify that expenditures comply with DOC and institution policy. A crucial aspect of this position includes returning any disapproved cash slips to the inmate or security for resolution and managing bulk transactions using Gravity software.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week after completing a 6-month probation period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bellefonte.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please Note: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $39,785.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
An Associate Degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits of accounting.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
