Join our team at the Beaver County Mental Health/Intellectual Disabilities (MH/ID) Unit as a County Social Services Aide 2. This career will provide you with excellent opportunities for personal and professional growth, and a variety of different ways to help support people in need!DESCRIPTION OF WORKA County Social Services Aide 2 assists case management staff and Unit clients with administrative tasks, as well as supports a caseload of individuals who benefit greatly from regular contact, but whose needs may not warrant enrollment in higher levels of service. This includes completing home or community visits, routine telephone contact, scheduling appointments, locating opportunities for socialization, shopping, budgeting, and other activities of daily living. You will also accompany individuals to medical or behavioral health appointments, procedures, or treatments to provide support and assistance as needed. This may involve transporting individuals to those appointments in the absence of alternate transportation or due to special circumstances.When individuals do need additional services, you will assist them with gathering documentation to establish or maintain their eligibility, as well as help them complete applications for enrollment into specific federal, state, county, or community programs such as utility assistance, Rent Rebate, Social Security, and more. You will also compose and mail correspondence, scan information into the permanent medical record, and perform other duties as needed to support case management staff.In our person-centered service team, you will regularly meet with the unit manager to review cases, activities, and assignments. We also offer opportunities for participation in training programs designed to develop your program knowledges and skills. Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

This position may involve working outside standard hours based upon the needs of the individuals served by the program.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Beaver Falls.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as a County Social Services Aide 1; or

Graduation from high school, or its equivalency, and two years of experience in public contact work in a human services agency which included one year of experience in interviewing and obtaining information; or

An associate's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training

Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.Other Requirements:

This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license.
